Autistic Connections: Late-Identified Adults
A Workshop for Late-Identified Autistic Adults to Connect, Learn, and Grow
Rewriting Your Story with Self-Compassion
Maybe you’ve always felt different but never quite knew why. Perhaps you’ve spent years adapting, struggling to fit into spaces that never seemed to be made for you. And then, one day—through self-discovery or a formal diagnosis—you find out: you’re autistic.
This realization can be both liberating and overwhelming. Suddenly, your entire life begins to make sense in a way it never has before. Every misunderstood moment, every struggle, every overwhelming experience—it wasn’t just “you being too sensitive” or “not trying hard enough.” It was your brain working differently, and no one ever told you.
Now, you have the opportunity to reshape your past with understanding and self-compassion instead of shame. To see yourself clearly, maybe for the first time.
Things Might Be Clicking Into Place…
You may be starting to understand:
✔ Why certain relationships felt draining or confusing—the chronic misunderstandings, the feeling of being “too much” or “not enough” at the same time.
✔ Why you always felt different in social settings—maybe struggling to follow unspoken rules, feeling like you were acting instead of just being yourself.
✔ Why rejection stings so deeply—experiencing rejection sensitivity dysphoria, where even minor criticisms or perceived slights feel overwhelming.
✔ Why your emotions feel bigger than others seem to experience—meltdowns you thought were panic attacks, shutdowns mistaken for depression.
✔ Why you crave justice and fairness so intensely—always questioning the “rules,” feeling a strong need to defend others who are marginalized or mistreated.
✔ Why you’re constantly exhausted—after a lifetime of masking, adjusting your behavior to fit into a neurotypical world, you may be feeling the deep weight of autistic burnout.
At Zen Psychological Center, we understand what it’s like to live a life of chronic masking—the exhaustion, the burnout, the deep desire to finally just be yourself without fear of judgment. That’s why we created Autistic Connections: Late-Identified Adults—a six-week workshop for individuals just like you.
